31 December 2002
New Year's Eve. Hope y'all enjoyed the last year, and welcome the new year and everything it brings. Hope it'll be better for all of us.
First on my updates list today is a brief (and, admittedly, old) article on Dom, Lij, and Billy. Apparently, they had a little shopping spree last night. "This past weekend, head Hobbit Elijah Wood and his friendly fellas Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd hit Urban Outfitters on la trendy Melrose Avenue. Hell-Ay, natch." You can find the rest of the article at E! Online.
The next little update is just to inform y'all of Dom's current living conditions. This is from an MSN Live Chat with Sean Astin: "...Dom lives with my brother Mackenzie." (Erm, yeah. I told you it was a very brief quote.)
Lastly, I added a couple more pictures to the New York Two Towers Premiere gallery.

Nothing major. I don't know if any of you noticed, but I revamped the first page. I removed the Merry Christmas thing, but I might put it in some corner of the website at some point. Added some and removed some cliques and fanlistings, and a few award nominations.
Oh, and I've got a new affiliate: 4 Hobbits and 1 Elf. Check it out!

I've run out of new pictures to add, but if you have anything I don't have - or, even better, any video clips I may be interested in - then please don't hesitate to email me. You will be given full credit for it.
I do have a healthy backlog of Dominic Monaghan interviews, though. First of all, Unreel has a pretty lengthy interview with Dominic Monaghan. In the interview, we learn that Dominic Monaghan has purchased the new Coldplay album - we knew Dom had great taste in music! Meanwhile, regarding Dom's next project, Dom says this: "Well I’ve been kind of waiting there’s been a lot of stuff thrown around that I’ve been reading. But I’ve just been kind of waiting for the right thing. There’s stuff that I’ve gone for that hasn’t worked out that I’ve wanted and other things that have fallen through and stuff. I’m in this position where I can afford to wait, I’m lucky enough to be financially secure to not have to do anything that’s thrown at me. You know the next couple of jobs are going to be pretty crucial in terms of how you’re perceived by people. So I’m just waiting." You can read the rest of the interview here.
CBBC Newsround also has a quick interview with Dom and Billy Boyd. They made fun of Orlando Bloom a bit, with Dom saying "Yeah you should see him (Orlando Bloom) when he's got his wig off. It's disgusting. Big open weeping warts on the top of his head." Funny stuff. The rest of the interview can be found here.
CHUD also has an interview with Dom and Billy. In the interview, as Dom discusses CGI, Yoda inevitably figures in the discussion, and here's what Dom had to say about it: "It's awful. Just awful. Why didn't they use the puppet? They had the puppet of Jabba the Hutt and then they used this new strange looking Jabba. It just makes no sense at all. Sorry George." Read the rest of the interview here.
Coming Soon! also has a Dom-and-Billy interview. Dom has this much to say about the "relationship" between Frodo and Sam: "With Frodo and Sam, it's probably because they're the main characters. Sam has this doting, loving kind of relationship with Frodo, whereas Merry and Pippin seem to bounce off each other quite well as a double act. The purity of Tolkien's writing was in the same vein as someone who completely adores his master, but the whole master and servant thing is dated now and people confuse that with them being homosexual." The rest of the interview is here.
GreenCine has a series of interviews with the cast and crew of 'The Lord of the Rings,' and guess what? Dom and Billy are interviewed yet again. Of their friendship with each other, Dom calls it "Love. Deep-seated love. Though not on a sexual basis. No, yeah, we hang out all the time. We understand each other very well, we know what makes each other tick. And in terms of our career, we'd both like to work together for the rest of our lives. Solely, until the day we die." Dom also explains why he had TREES on his hands in the first place, and I think it's an excellent explanation. That and the rest of the interview is here.
Lastly, MTV.com has put up a pseudo-transcript of the interview Dom and Billy had with Benji and Joel of the band Good Charlotte. In the interview, Dominic claims, "I never had a problem with my dating life."

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!!!
Hope everyone got what they wanted, and maybe a handful of LOTR-related stuff. (If not, you can always go to the movie theater and catch The Two Towers.)
I come bearing gifts for y'all. Namely, 13 new pictures of Dom. 5 are from the Wellington premiere, 4 from the London premiere, 3 from the LOTR:FOTR home video launch, and one from the 2002 SAG Awards. That brings the total number of pictures on this site to 252!
That's not all. The New Zealand Herald reports that Dom, Billy, and Lij are all seeking New Zealand residency. Quoting the article, Dominic says, "We kind of said to Helen Clark, 'Is that all right? If we get in at the last minute?' She was: 'Okay, all right'." Check out the rest of the article here.
Lastly, here's some info on what the hobbits do on their free time, straight from the hobbits' mouths. According to Elijah, "Hobbits who play together make sweet love together." Uhh. Right. Meanwhile, all Dom has to say about hobbits playing together is, "That's naughty." (As if we really needed more slash fodder. Sigh.) Anyway, Dom goes further in detail on what they do when they're together: "Playing videogames, watching DVDs--and then we call girls up," Monaghan continued with a boyish wink. "And they say they can't come 'round, so we call more girls up and play more videogames." Anyway, you can read more about the hobbits, Orlando Bloom, Karl Urban, and Billy Boyd's "monster" here, thanks to Ted Casablanca's The Awful Truth.

It's Christmas Eve, and what better Christmas gift than 14 new pictures? Yeah, that's all I have for the moment.
If you haven't seen The Two Towers, I highly recommend that you go see it now.

The rest of the site has been uploaded. Hurrah! We're now back in business and fully operational. By the way, the photo gallery now has 225 pictures. Don't miss the new pictures from the TTT premieres in Los Angeles, London, Paris, and New York. There are also pictures from the unveiling of Air New Zealand's LOTR-themed airplane, and naturally, some pictures of Dom as Merry in The Two Towers.
If you haven't seen The Two Towers, go watch it as soon as possible.

"THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS" OPENS IN THEATERS TODAY!
Well, in most of the world anyway, primarily North America. If it's out where you are, go watch it every chance you can get.
Pardon the lack of updates, but I'm currently fixing up the site. Hopefully, the site will be fully operational starting early next year, but for now, very few updates will be made. I'm trying to get the whole new site design up and running first. Do drop by BoardDom! for updates on Dom.
Meanwhile, for the past few weeks, Dom has been travelling around the world attending various premieres for The Two Towers. As always, Dom looked awesome, and we have some pics to prove that; see below. They've been labelled according to location, so you won't get lost.
Oh, and we also have pics from the launch of Air New Zealand's LOTR Boeing 747. (If any of you end up riding said plane... lucky ducks.)
