As promised, here's the article which explains why Dom, Orlando, and Billy weren't at the Oscars.
Legolas, Merry And Pippin Snubbed By Academy
Three British stars of movie blockbuster Lord Of The Rings were snubbed by Academy Award organizers and refused a ticket for last night's Oscars. Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan and Orlando Bloom starred in the first instalment of the fantasy trilogy - which was nominated for 13 awards. The actors were flown into Los Angeles to join their co-stars at the ceremony - but Oscar organizers claimed the 3,500 seat Kodak Theater in Hollywood was packed for the bash, and there was no room for the trio. Despite the snub, though, the actors, remained defiant and insisted they would make the most of their stay in tinseltown. Bloom, who played elf Legolas in The Fellowship Of The Ring, says, "I'm going out to get drunk anyway." And Monaghan - who played hobbit Merry - added, "We have plenty of options for a night out. But the Oscars isn't one of them."

Meanwhile, details of the LOTR:FOTR DVD have been released. There'll be two editions to be released: A two-disc edition featuring the theatrical version of the film plus two hours worth of extras to be released on August 6, and a four-disc Special Extended Edition featuring an extend version of the film plus loads of extras to be released on November 12. For more information, read this. There was a press conference (or something) for this remarkable announcement, and members of the cast - including Dominic Monaghan, of course - were on hand. Congratulations to The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring for winning four Acdemy Awards: Best Visual Effects, Best Makeup, Best Cinematography, and Best Original Score for Howard Shore. 'A Beautiful Mind' took home Best Picture, but four Oscars ain't bad. Congratulations!
To all those disappointed that Dominic wasn't at the Oscars (myself included), there's an article (which I'll post here soon) which explains why. Dom, Billy Boyd, and Orlando Bloom were apparently on standby for seats at the Kodak Theater; no seats were spared for the two hobbits and one elf. Damn.
Now, on to more site updates. Dom and Billy were apprently at the premiere of the number one film in North America, 'Blade 2,' and naturally I've got a picture. I've also got two more pictures of Dom and the rest of the cast at that pre-Oscars party. Enjoy!

First of all, if you've been having trouble with Dominic Monaghan: The Unofficial Site, you're not the only one. The massive popularity of the site has been using up so much bandwidth, it's down most of the time. As a result, Sharon has posted this message:
At this stage there will be no further updates to the site due to the fact that most of the time the site is inaccessible to *many*, me included. When the site is down I can't update.
This site needs a large amout of bandwidth which over time will only increase, currently I need up to 5 GB a month. If anybody knows of a reliable and reasonably priced webhost let me know.
As I work fulltime nowadays I do not have a lot of free time and can't give a date as to when the site will be back to normal.
My apologies for the inconvenience.

In website news, The Big One! A Dominic Monaghan Fansite is currently in the Top 100 of Nedstat's Entertainment/Actors and Actresses listing. Thanks all for the hits and visits to my site! As of last update, we're at #97, as the page capture reveals:
Dominic, meanwhile, is currently ranked #28 in the Celebrity Link Top 30. LOTR:FOTR costars Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood are ranked #1 and #5, respectively.
Finally, some website updates. I've finally fixed up the photo gallery, so hopefully it's less confusing to find the pics you want to find. In the process, I've also added two SAG Awards pics and one Cannes pic.

If you've applied to be an affiliate recently, hold your horses. I'm still getting some real life work done.
Congratulations to Sir Ian McKellen (Gandalf) for winning Best Supporting Actor at the Screen Actors Guild Awards! Unfortunately, Ian, Dom, and the rest of the LOTR:FOTR cast lost to the ensemble of 'Gosford Park' in the Best Ensemble Cast category, but that's okay. Anyhoo, Dominic was actually at the SAG Awards, and as always, we have pictures. I hope you enjoy them. (Two are from the arrivals, and the other two are from the post-party.)
